Creating a new research page

Start by Choosing a Page to Clone

Most resource pages follow the same general layout, so it’s best to start by cloning an existing one.

  1. Log into HubSpot and navigate to Content → Website Pages.
  2. Use the search bar to find a resource page similar to the one you're creating (example: Homeowner Social Media page).
  3. Hover over the page and click Clone.
  4. Give your new page a name that matches the new resource you are creating.
  5. Click Clone to create the duplicated draft page.

Edit the Page Content

Once the page opens in the HubSpot editor:

Update CTA Modules (Resource List at the Top)

These are the clickable resource links displayed at the top of the page.

  • Clone a CTA module if you need additional items.
  • Drag modules to reorder.
  • Click a module to edit its text or content.
  • Delete a module by selecting it and clicking the trash icon.

Note: Setting up these resource CTA buttons is covered in another tutorial, but you can duplicate and arrange them as needed here.

Edit Page Text and Tags

Most editable text can be updated by clicking directly on it.

To edit tags:

  1. Click on the tag section within the module.
  2. In the editing sidebar:

    • Click an existing tag to edit it.
    • Click the + (Add) to add a new tag.

  3. Choose from the dropdown list of available tags.
  4. Click Back to return to the module options.
  5. To remove a tag, click the trash/remove icon.

Edit Objectives Section

The objectives area usually contains a repeating group of items.

  • To add more objectives: click Clone Module.
  • To remove one: click the Delete icon.

Edit the “Related Resources” Section

  1. Scroll to the bottom to find the Related Resources module.
  2. Click the module.
  3. Change the Topic selection from the dropdown (example: change topic to Market resources).
  4. The related resources section will update automatically based on the topic selected.

Update Page Settings

Click the Settings tab at the top of the editor.

Set the Internal Name

  • This name is for internal reference only.
  • Update it to match the new resource title.

Set the Page Title

This appears in:

  • Browser tabs
  • Search engine results
  • Social previews

Make sure it is clear, descriptive, and keyword-friendly.

Update the URL Slug

This is important for:

  • The page’s published URL
  • Adding the page later in HubDB for listing pages

Important:
Write down or save the slug— you will need it during the HubDB setup when adding the resource to the listing page.

Add a Meta Description

  • Add a concise summary describing what the resource page is about.
  • You’ll reuse this content later when working on the listing page.

Publish the Page

Once:

  • The content is updated
  • Tags are set
  • Settings are finalized

…click Publish.

Important Note:
The page will not appear on the public resource listing until you manually add it via HubDB, which is handled in a separate step/video.
